My name's Matt Haydock and I run Ninja Signs in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I'm a professionally trained blackboard artist and sign writer working mainly in London and the South East. I'm currently expanding my client base throughout the Kent and Sussex areas whilst remaining within reach of my long term clients in the city. 

After studying Fine Art at the Kent Institute of Art and Design (KIAD) I went on to gain my BA Hons degree at Guildhall University in London. After several years working in television I took a year out to study a postgraduate Certificate in Design for Visual Communication at UAL. It was during this time that I was approached by a professional sign writer who took me on as her apprentice and trained me for two years. In about 2012 I  struck out on my own and I’ve now been painting signs, blackboards, menus, murals and all sorts of other flat surfaces for over a decade now.

Over the years I've enjoyed working on many interesting projects and had the pleasure of working for a wide range of excellent companies and organisations including Jamie Oliver's Fifteen, Port Elliott Music Festival, Lipton Iced Tea, Fuller's, Greene King, Dame Kelly Holmes' Cafe 1809, The Tunbridge Wells Forum, Nicholson's, PubLove, The Yummy Pub Company, Valentina Restaurants, Proud Galleries, Nordic Bar, Stonegate, Young’s and many, many other great independent establishments in and around the UK.

Professional and dynamic blackboards, windows, signs and menus are a great way to attract more business to your pub, bar or cafe and branding across your franchise or chain can be a very important way to expand as a business. The presentation of A-boards, menus and signs is a crucial but oft-overlooked detail in a lot of businesses. The interior and exterior of any eating or drinking establishment can be completely transformed by having blackboards and menus laid out in a smart and orderly fashion and the materials I use can be either permanent or altered and updated on a regular basis.

Chalkboards are one of the best and most cost effective point of sale for pubs, cafes, restaurants and other retails outlets.
